Oh my, what a big playoff series this is shaping up to be. Milwaukee, the team who have spent the last few years promising a lot but delivering nothing, come up against last year's Eastern Conference champs who could be anything heading into the postseason.
The truth is, the Bucks have legitimate claims for the NBA title this year and they need to make a statement. Our data projects that at home in Game 1, Milwaukee should be coming out of the gates with a full head of steam.

Mavericks @ Clippers

It was the Clippers who took out the Mavs in last year's playoffs inside the bubble, but it wasn't without drama with Dallas able to steal two games in that series which may give them some confidence heading into this series which LA is widely expected to glide through.
For this pick, our data is telling us to look at the points total. Dallas have been in some extremely high scoring games leading up to the postseason. Their last ten games average 229 total points. The 'books are giving us some nice leeway with a total sub-220, so we're taking it.

Blazers @ Nuggets

One of the closest series from a betting perspective according to the sportsbooks, but our data can see only one winner when Portland and Denver clash. Armed with the presumptive league MVP, Nikola Jokic, who is receiving more than adequate support from Michael Porter Jr, the Nuggets still seem primed to go deep into the playoffs, even without Jamal Murray. They'll be leading the series after the opening game.
