Ranger vs. Astros Best Bets

Thursday, August 11, 2022 - 2:10 pm ET

PICK: Framber Valdez To Record A Win (-110)

The Astros conclude their three-game set with the Rangers this afternoon. The two split the first two games in this series, which means that Houston will be eager to go out there and win this one. That makes this a good time to claim the exclusive BetMGM get $20 free + a risk-free bet up to $1,000 offer, just for signing up with their world-class sportsbook. You can find that offer HERE. The Astros aren't going to want to drop a series to an inferior team.

Houston will send Framber Valdez to the hill for this rubber match. The lefty is 10-4 on the season with a 2.87 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and an OBA of .217. The southpaw has also dominated the Rangers this season. In two starts against them, Valdez has given up only one earned run over 13 innings of work and has a WHIP of 1.08. He should be very confident getting to face this lineup again.

The Rangers will counter with Cole Ragans on the mound, and he has only pitched five career major league innings and all of them have come this season. On top of Texas having a question mark on the hill to start the game, Houston also has the bullpen edge. The Astros have the fifth-lowest bullpen ERA in baseball over the last 30 days, while the Rangers have the sixth-highest.

I expect the Astros to bounce back after last night's loss and Valdez should limit the Ranger bats and pick up the win.
