Rangers vs. Red Sox Best Bets
Friday, September 2, 2022 - 7:10PM ET
PICK: Boston Red Sox Team Total Over 5 (-112)
PICK: Rafael Devers Over 1.5 Total Bases (+100)
PICK: Rafael Devers 3+ Total Bases (+200)
The Boston Red Sox host the Texas Rangers in Game 2 of their 4 game weekend series tonight at Fenway Park. If you haven't already signed up for BetMGM, this is the perfect time to do so by clicking ➡️ here ⬅️ for $20 free + a risk-free bet up to $1,000!
Boston took the opener in dramatic fashion as they erased an 8-3 deficit with a 2 run 8th and a 4 run 9th to walk it off thanks to a single by Rob Refsnyder.
The Sox should continue that momentum tonight as they have a very very favorable matchup as they face Dallas Keuchel. The Rangers left hander has been getting smashed all season long, across 3 different teams. He has pitched for the White Sox, the Diamondbacks (albeit 1 start) and the Rangers.
In 13 starts between those 3 teams he has a 8.84 ERA and an abysmal 2.16 WHIP. His numbers are even worse on the road as his ERA balloons to 13.75. Keuchel has 5 career starts at Fenway where he sports an ERA of 6.00 and a WHIP of 1.60 with an opponent batting average of .796.
One Boston hitter, in particular, has had great success against Keuchel and that is third baseman Rafael Devers. The lefty is 6/7 lifetime against him with 2 doubles. Devers will see Sinker/Slider/Cutter tonight. His Avg/ISO against those pitches are:
Sinker .368 Avg/.228 ISO
Slider .265 Avg/.220 ISO
Cutter .333 Avg/.482 ISO
I am not overly concerned about a Left vs Left matchup because I don't expect Keuchel to last too long in this game. Devers has also cleared 1.5 Total Bases in 3 of the 4 meetings against the Rangers this season and has collected 16 Total Bases in those games.
I love Devers and the Boston offense to get to Keuchel and the Rangers early and often tonight, so bet Boston Red Sox Team Total Over 5 (-112), Devers Over 1.5 Total Bases (+100) and Rafael Devers 3+ Total Bases (+200) with BetMGM ➡️ here ⬅️ and claim an awesome new customer bonus while you're at it - including a $20 free bet, just for signing up!
