Canucks vs. Sabres Best Bets

Tuesday, November 15, 2022 - 7:00PM ET

PICK: Canucks at Sabres Over 6.5 (-125)

PICK: Canucks at Sabres 1st Period Over 2 (+120)

The Vancouver Canucks conclude their 5 game road trip tonight as they visit the Buffalo Sabres at KeyBank Center.

It has been a terrible start to the season, to say the least, for the Canucks, who are 4-9-3. Vancouver is allowing 4 goals a game, which is 3rd most in the league.

On the road they are allowing 4.3 goals per game, which is also 3rd most in the league. Their Penalty Kill is a league worst 62% on the road and 61% overall.

Their goaltending has not helped matters as Thatcher Demko and Spencer Martin have a combined .877 Save Percentage.

The Canucks have been able to score goals as they are averaging 3.3 goals per game overall and 3.2 per game on the road. This all contributes to Overs being 11-5 in Vancouver games this season.

The Buffalo Sabres have gotten off to a 7-8 start but they have lost 5 straight games. The Sabres are allowing 3.4 goals per game overall and 3.4 as well at home.

Buffalo is averaging 3.6 goals per game, which is top 5 in the league, and at home they are averaging 3.7 goals per game. These two teams met earlier in the season, which saw the Sabres defeat the Canucks by a 5-1 score.

I think Vancouver should be able to contribute more to this contest and I'll back the Over tonight.

I am also going to add the 1st period over. The Canucks are an insane 15-1 to the 1st period over this season and 10-0 on the road.

On the road, the Canucks are averaging 1.4 goals and allowing 1.2 goals in their 1st periods. The Sabres themselves are 10-5 to the 1st period over but only 4-5 at home. At home, the Sabres are averaging .07 goals and allowing 1.0 goals in their first periods.

The Over 1.5 is too juicy for me so I will go with the 1st Period Over 2, at plus money, so bet Canucks at Sabres Over 6.5 (-125) and Canucks at Sabres 1st Period Over 2 (+120) with BetMGM.
