The upstart New Jersey Devils host the Edmonton Oilers tonight at the Prudential Center.
New Jersey has been an absolute wagon this year as they are 15-3 and are currently riding a 12 game wining streak. New Jersey is 7-2 at home this season where they are averaging 3.3 goals per game on 35 shots per game.
The Devils are allowing 2.4 goals per game at home, on a league low 23 shots per game. In Five on Five situations at home, the Devils are allowing the 7th fewest goals and the 2nd fewest High Danger scoring chances.
Edmonton has been a solid road team (5-2 this season), where they average 3.5 goals per game but only 29 shots per game. Edmonton is allowing 3.4 goals per game on the road on 36 shots per game, which is 5th most.
These two teams met earlier in the season in Edmonton, which resulted in a 4-3 Devil win. During this win streak, 6 New Jersey wins have come by multiple goals. I like them to continue the same here tonight.
I haven’t laid juice on SOG props this season but markets have adjusted recently and so will I. I am targeting New Jersey Center Nico Hischier to eclipse his SOG prop tonight.
Hischier has hit 3 + shots on goal in 7 of 9 home games, where he averages 3.6 shots per game in 5.6 attempts per game. I mentioned above Edmontons tendency to give up shots on the road and I like this Matchup for Nico tonight.
