PICK: Over 6.5 Goals (-120)
The Florida Panthers begin a five-game road trip tonight as they visit the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place. The Oilers are returning home from a three-game Eastern Conference road trip themselves. Both teams had contrasting results in their last games. Florida blew a 4-1 third-period lead in a 5-4 home loss to the St. Louis Blues, in overtime, on Saturday night. The Oilers erased a 3-0 third-period deficit en route to a 4-3 win against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden, on Saturday afternoon.
Both of these teams can fill the net and both have trouble defensively. On the road, the Panthers are averaging 3.1 goals per game, while allowing 3.6. At home, the Oilers are averaging 3.5 goals per game, while allowing 3.6. Both teams also have bottom-10 team save percentages this season. Both of these teams also like to play fast and despite the Panthers missing Aleksander Barkov and the Oilers missing Evander Kane, I’m expecting plenty of goals in what should be a very entertaining contest.
