Penguins vs. Oilers Best Bets

Monday, October 24, 2022 - 8:00PM ET

PICK: Penguins at Oilers Over 6.5 (-130)

Two generational superstars clash tonight as Sidney Crosby leads his team into Edmonton as the Penguins meet Connor McDavid and the Oilers. To celebrate, BetMGM will give new users $200 when they register an account here. Then, simply place a $10 money line bet on any team, and score $200 as soon as there's a goal.

The Pens have gotten off to a fast start as they have a record of 4-0-1 after coming from behind to beat the Blue Jackets, 6-3 on Saturday night.

Pittsburgh is averaging 5.2 goals per game, which leads the league. Pittsburgh's Power Play is clicking at 26%, which is 10th best in the NHL.

The Pens fire plenty of shots on net as they lead the league with a 39.8 shot per game average. The Edmonton Oilers are coming off a 2-0 shutout loss to St. Louis on Saturday.

The loss dropped them to 2-3 on the season as they conclude a 6 game homestand tonight. Edmonton is averaging 3.2 goals per game and their Power Play is 35%, which is 4th best in the league.

Defensively, Pittsburgh is allowing only 2.2 goals per game but their Penalty Kill has struggled. The Pens PK is 73%, which is 10th worst in the league.

Edmonton's PK is not much better as they are a 9th worst 72%. The Oilers won both meetings last season, 5-2 in Edmonton and 5-1 in Pittsburgh. In fact, the last 3 meetings in Edmonton have gone over the total.

There is plenty of firepower on both sides tonight and special teams will play a major part in this bout, and I'll back the over, so bet Penguins at Oilers Over 6.5 (-130) with BetMGM.
