Wild vs. Senators Best Bets

Thursday, October 27, 2022 - 7:00PM ET

PICK: Minnesota Wild at Ottawa Senators Over 6.5 (-130)

The Minnesota Wild continue their 3 game road trip as they visit the Ottawa Senators tonight at Canadian Tire Centre and BetMGM will give new users $200 when they register an account here and then place a $10 money line bet on any team. From there you will score $200 in free bets as soon as there's a goal.

The Wild are coming off a 3-1 win at Montreal on Tuesday night and sit at 2-3-1 on the season.

The Senators are finalizing a 5 game homestand in which they have won all 4 games thus far, most recently a 4-2 against the Stars, on Monday night. Ottawa, who is 4-2 on the year, was dealt a blow to the forward group as Josh Norris will miss months with a shoulder injury.

There is still plenty of offensive firepower on this team, however. The Sens are averaging 4.1 goals per game, which is 2nd in the league. Brady Tkachuk is tied for the team with 5 goals with youngster Shane Pinto, who will be called upon more to fill the void left by Norris.

The offseason additions of Alex DeBrincat and Claude Giroux have made the Senators even more of a dangerous offensive team. The Minnesota Wild are no slouches on the offensive end either. Minnesota is averaging 3.7 goals per game, which is 6th best in the league.

The Wild are led by Mats Zuccarello, who leads the team with 10 points, and Kirill Kaprizov, who is tied for the team lead with 4 goals.

On the special teams side we have 2 top 10 Power Play units. The Wild are 3rd at 32% and the Sens are 9th at 25%. Both of these teams can struggle on the defensive end as well.

Minnesota is allowing 4.7 goals per game, which is 2nd most, and the Sens are allowing 3 goals per game, which is 14th most.

The last 3 meetings have gone over the total, including 2 last season which saw a total of 16 goals being scored.

The -130 is rather juicy, especially for a 6.5, but with a board full of high totals, I think this one has the best chance to go over, so bet Over 6.5 goals (-130) with BetMGM.
