Well, it’s not the flashiest game, but I go where the board takes me. And, if we’re being honest, Saturday’s EPL slate is pretty awful unless you want to watch City beat the life out of Southampton or watch Wolves and Chelsea play something barely resembling soccer. Alas, we’re left with a couple of middling teams who at least keep the game fairly interesting.
Rather than dilly dally, I’ll cut to the chase on this one (mostly because I have nothing witty or interesting to toss out about either of them) and say we’re taking Newcastle TT Over 1.5 at -125. The home side haven’t been stellar this year, but Brentford are far worse away from home and Newcastle scored 5 combined in their meetings last year (including 3 at St. James) despite having a weaker squad than they have right now.
While they may be dealing with some injury struggles, this is the type of match they need to win if they want a chance at Europe and I think they push on the Bees fairly hard. Brentford, for their part, give up 1.5 goals per game this season, and Newcastle score 1.5 goals. With the added variables above, I think we have some solid value here at -125.
