After going down in an Opening Day whimper 9-0 to the Cardinals, it's already looking like an all-too-familiar season for the Pirates. The St. Louis batting lineup had their way with Pittsburgh on Thursday, and they'll be licking their lips once more at the prospect of facing Mitch Keller today. Keller was leaky through 100 innings pitched in 2021, giving up an ERA of 6.17. This is a golden opportunity for the Cards to keep on marching.

Marlins vs. Giants, 4:05PM ET

Despite the Giants' needing extra innings yesterday to get their Opening Day walkoff win, they were by far the better team throughout the game, only giving up some soft runs and letting the Marlins back into things. Don't expect that today with Carlos Rodon opening things up for the Giants. They'll assert themselves early and get the leg up.

Guardians vs. Royals, 4:10PM ET

Cleveland and Kansas City played out a pretty dull 3-1 game in the Royals' favor on Opening Day but we expect there to be runs in Game 2 of the weekend series. With next-to-no sample sizes available to us yet this season, referring to 2021, both of today's pitchers Zach Plesac and Brad Keller were on the lower end of the economical spectrum. With some nicer weather expected in KC today, we're counting on the batters opening up their shoulders a little more this time around.
