The Mets have been simply dominant through three games of their opening series against Washington, but this is the exact opportunity the Nats needed to get back some confidence. Carlos Carrasco will be on the mound for New York and longtime Dimers readers will know, when Carrasco starts, we attack. The Mets ace was simply horrendous to open up games last year, registering a 13.50 ERA in first innings in 2021 from 12 inning pitched. He's 35 and the season is young, so the jury is out on whether this was just an aberration, or if this is the beginning of the end for Carrasco, but we have to lean on the trend lines. We have to take the first half money line.

This bet has been money all weekend, so why stop now? Not a whole lot looks like changing when the teams head out there today with Bryse Wilson taking the mound for Pittsburgh. Wilson has a 5.55 career ERA over a four-year career in which he's been unable to establish himself as a regular fixture. The Cards will continue to pummel.

Astros vs. Angels, 4:07PM ET

It's been an up-and-down weekend series so far out in Anaheim with a high scoring game sandwiched between two low scoring ones, and that looks set to continue with today's finale. Both Jose Urquidy and Jose Suarez were among their team's best on the mound last season and it's clear that, one game aside on Friday, both ball clubs are making a point of playing locked in run defense to start the year off. The total line is just a little too high for us to consider.
