Philip Rivers’ return as the Colts’ starting quarterback headlines a pivotal Week 15 matchup against the Seahawks, with Dimers' projections highlighting prop betting opportunities across the Indianapolis offense.

Philip Rivers, Colts, NFL predictions
How will Philip Rivers perform in his return to the NFL on Sunday against a top-ranked Seahawks defense?

44-year-old quarterback Philip Rivers is set to make his first start since the 2020 season after joining the Colts' practice squad earlier this week in the wake of Daniel Jones' season-ending Achilles injury.

The now un-retired QB's projected stats point to a potentially more productive return to the NFL than the sportsbooks expect on Sunday when the Indianapolis Colts host the Seattle Seahawks.

Rather than start backup QB Riley Leonard, Indianapolis turns back to a familiar face.

Rivers led the Colts to an 11–5 record and a playoff win during his final NFL season in 2020. Now trying to hang in the AFC playoff race at 8–5, the Colts are hoping the veteran can stabilize an offense that has dropped three straight games.

According to Dimers Pro’s NFL player projections, Rivers grades out as a viable option in both projections and the prop market for this matchup.

Philip Rivers projected stats vs. Seahawks

Based on Dimers’ advanced simulations, Rivers is projected to produce efficiently through the air despite the long layoff:

Pass completions: 19.4
Passing yards: 205.5
Passing touchdowns: 74.5% for 1+

Those projections align with multiple high-value prop opportunities identified by the Dimers model.

Rivers carries a 74.0% probability to go over 16.5 completions, an 80.2% probability to exceed 149.5 passing yards, and a 74.5% chance to throw at least one touchdown.

He also shows strong value on volume, with the model giving him a 64.9% probability to surpass 27.5 passing attempts.

Projecting the rest of the Colts offense

While Rivers' return is the headlining story, the rest of the Colts offense is still expected to flow through RB Jonathan Taylor.

Dimers’ projections have Taylor pacing the game with 82.9 rushing yards and another 16.9 yards through the air on 2.4 receptions, giving him one of the highest touchdown probabilities on the slate, though on the low end for him this year. He carries a 54.5% chance to score at least once and a 13.2% probability to find the end zone first.

Against the Seahawks' elite passing defense, WR Michael Pittman Jr. projects as Rivers’ primary target, leading the wide receivers with 4.0 receptions and 40.1 receiving yards.

TE Tyler Warren projects second among passcatchers at 3.8 receptions and 37.3 yards and WR Alec Pierce rounds out the group with a projected 2.4 receptions for 34.9 yards.
