Game: Pistons vs. Magic

In the first game of the night, the Detroit Pistons look to survive another day and force a Game 7 back on their home floor.

After falling behind 3-1 to the Magic, they won Game 5 behind their highest offensive output in the series, and the Dimers model predicts them to follow it up with another strong performance.

The home team has won every game of this series. Still, it's Cleveland predicted to ride their way to Round 2 on Friday night, drawing a 52.8% probability to cover the standard 4.5-point spread, and we can get an even better line at -3.5 on Novig for a higher probability.

The Cavs won each of their 3 games by at least 5 points and their 63% win probability from the Dimers model suggests they're in a better position to win outright on the road than in Games 3+4, especially as the injuries pile up in Toronto, with Brandon Ingram and Scottie Barnes getting banged up in Game 5.

Donovan Mitchell and James Harden lead the way in Dimers' projections, at 28 points and 23 points respectively.

Pick 3: Lakers +3.5

Game: Lakers vs. Rockets

Rounding it out in the night game, the Lakers find themselves on the heels of back-to-back losses, the first time since 2006 that a LeBron James-led team dropped back-to-back closeout games.

For the series, history is on the Lakers side, as no team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in the NBA playoffs. For Game 6, things get a little more precarious as they hit the road, set at 3.5-point underdogs.
