How to find golf betting value with Dimers' Head-to-Head Matchups tool
Learn how to find golf betting value with the Dimers Head-to-Head Matchup tool.

Golf betting is at its peak in the summer months, in the midst of major action and the FedExCup Playoffs not far behind, but whether you are reading this at the start of the season, the middle, or even the end, you will always have valuable insights with the Dimers Pro golf tools.
Dimers uses in-house predictive models to simulate outcomes across major sports, including thousands of golf simulations for every PGA TOUR event. One of the most useful outputs of that modeling is our Head-to-Head golf simulation tool, which pits any two golfers directly against each other and projects who will finish higher, whether for Round 1 or across the full 72 holes.
What is golf matchup betting?
Golf matchup betting (also called "head-to-head" or "H2H" betting) is one of the most popular ways to bet on golf outside of outright winner markets. Instead of picking a tournament winner, you're picking which of two specific golfers will post the better score, either for a single round or the entire event.
Because these markets are priced individually by each sportsbook, there's often a gap between what the books think and what the numbers actually say, and that gap is where Dimers Pro comes in.
Dimers' Golf H2H Matchup Tool compares our model's head-to-head probabilities for golfers competing in the current PGA TOUR tournament.
Choose your two players and toggle between Fair Odds or Percentages to instantly see how the model prices each side of the matchup. With a Dimers Pro subscription, you can simulate unlimited matchups for every tournament on the schedule.

Now if you're ready to give the Dimers' Head-to-Head tool a spin, here's how to turn that tool into a sharp, manageable parlay or a collection of straight bets:
1. Start with the matchups
Before you simulate a single golfer, you need to confirm the actual pairings being offered.
Matchup markets vary by sportsbook, and by timeframe (whether one round vs. full tournament, so don't assume two big names are paired together just because it feels likely.
Check the book's board first and go from there; there's no point simulating Rory McIlroy vs. Scottie Scheffler if that pairing doesn't actually exist.

2. Find your target matchups
A tournament can have dozens of potential matchups, and simulating all of them isn't necessarily practical (but it is possible).
We recommend you narrow the field with one of two approaches:
Method 1 - Start with evenly-priced matchups: When a sportsbook lists two golfers at the same (or nearly the same) odds, it's unlikely that our model also gives them the exact same probability, marking a pairing to simulate and see if we identify a bigger gap than the book does.
Method 2 - Start with lopsided matchups: Go the other way and look at pairings where the odds are far apart, then check if the model agrees. Instead of suing the Probability option, toggle Fair Odds to see exactly how Dimers prices each golfer.
Sometimes the model will show the sportsbook has the wrong player favored entirely, which is one of the clearest edges you can find.

3. Bet the edges
Once you've compared model probabilities to the books' odds, the bets effectively reveal themselves.
A golfer whose Dimers-projected probability is higher than what the sportsbook's price implies, or an underdog at plus money that the model gives a 50%+ chance of winning the matchup, both signal a mispriced golfer, and any mispriced discrepancy between the two is a matchup worth betting according to our predictions.

4. Additional research
Before locking in your parlay or straight wagers, it never hurts to run a quick sanity check on each golfer with datapoints like recent form, course fit, and head-to-head history between the two players.
In the event you end up with more individual matchup bets than you're comfortable making, this can help you narrow down your pool even further, aiding in bankroll management.
