College basketball player prop trends today
A college basketball hot or cold streak is easy to spot and slow to check. Five overs on 6.5 rebounds could be five of his last five games. It could also be five of his last 12. And the line may have moved to 7.5 since the run began.
November makes it harder. A freshman has a handful of college games, and a transferred player's stats could be when he was playing a different role, sometimes in a different conference. Checking player performance yourself means counting each game against tonight's line for every player with a prop, then counting again when a line moves.
That’s why we built a model that does that for you. We track how often a player has hit tonight's line in his recent games, over or under, with a star rating that weighs that record against the current price.
A player needs a prop line to have a trend, and sportsbooks don't post player props for every college game, so our NCAAB player trends won't cover every player in every game.
Three trends are free every day, and Dimers Pro unlocks every NCAAB trend on the slate for players with expected minutes.
How to read our college basketball trends
Each trend card shows the player, the matchup, and four details:
- The prop: The stat, the line, and the side, such as over 6.5 rebounds.
- Success rate: The player's hit rate against that line in his recent games, such as seven of his last 10.
- Star rating: One to five stars, rating that record against the current price.
- Best odds: The best available price we found for that prop, with a link to it.
A success rate is a record, not a probability. Seven of 10 describes those 10 games. It isn't the chance a player goes over or under their line tonight.
For the probabilities behind each player line, see our Best CBB Player Props.
You can also check how a player is expected to perform in our CBB Player Projections.
How we rate college basketball player trends
Our college basketball trends are built on the same model as our player props and player projections for college basketball.
Each one answers a different question:
- Projection = The stat line our model expects tonight.
- Prop = Our probability and the edge against the price.
- Trend = How a player has fared against a line in a recent sample size.
With our player trends, it helps to start with the success rate and the star rating.
- Success rate = A count from completed games, not a model output.
- Star rating = The strength of the trend against the current price.
Both figures provide information on the quality of the line based on hit rate and price, but they don’t tell you what will happen.
Our trends update regularly throughout the day to reflect recent line movement. Trends are patterns, not projections, so it’s good practice to check lines with your books before you press go.
College basketball player trends for points, rebounds, and assists
Our trends cover three player prop markets, and a player can be trending in one without the others:
- Points: Minutes and shot volume drive it. A college player fouls out on his fifth foul, one sooner than in the NBA, so two early fouls can send a scorer to the bench.
- Rebounds: Minutes and the size across from him. A run of overs against smaller lineups can meet a bigger front line tonight.
- Assists: The final pass before a bucket. An assist needs a teammate to make the shot, so a cold shooting night can sink an assist trend with the passes still there.
For threes, steals, blocks, turnovers, and other categories, our College Basketball Player Projections provide a forecast for the full stat line.
How to use college basketball player trends
- Count the sample size: Six of eight and 12 of 16 are both 75%, but the longer run carries more weight. Always consider the reliability around a number, rather than taking it on face value.
- Check the role and minutes: Playing time changes everything, and minutes can be a big variable in college ball. Early in the season a trend can lean also on last season, and a college player's summer can bring a new coach, a bigger role, or a new school. Midseason, an injury or a lineup change can do the same in a week. With NCAA hoops, it helps to give the player a second look.
- Account for the price: An over at -110 needs to hit 52.4% of the time to break even, and one at -150 needs 60%. A player who has hit six of his last 10 has a 60% record, which isn't a 60% chance tonight.
- Stack the trend against the projection: A trend says what a player has done, and our College Basketball Player Projections say what our model expects tonight. When the two point different ways, the reason may be minutes, matchup, or role.
Treat every trend as one part of the puzzle and always pair it with the price, a player's individual situation, and how they’re forecasted to perform.
Our CBB Player Props take the last step, with our probability for each prop and the edge against the best available odds.

Responsible gambling
A trend can end on any night. A run of hits doesn't make the next one safe, and a run of misses doesn't make a player due. Set a weekly bankroll rather than a nightly one, only bet what you can afford to lose, and treat a loss as money spent rather than something to win back at the next tip.
If gambling is causing harm for you or someone close to you, our responsible gambling resources include support services and self-exclusion options.
