Best college football player props this week [9/5]

Across the Week 1 NCAAF slate, Kirby Vorhees, Jaden Greathouse and Quaid Carr have the highest-probability player props according to the Dimers model. These are the three player props our model currently rates most highly for the week:

Today's best college football player props

There are plenty of college football player props available every week. The challenge isn't finding a prop to bet. It’s finding one where the price makes sense.

Dimers evaluates available NCAAF player props using player and team data, then compares our projections with sportsbook odds to identify positive expected value (+EV). The result is a curated list of NCAA football player props where the odds give you an advantage.

Dimers’ college football player props model generates picks across a broad range of FBS teams, games, and players, giving Group of 5 matchups and marquee games the same data-driven treatment. Coverage depends on player projections and relevant sportsbook markets being available.

Our CFB prop picks update throughout the week as new information becomes available, including player performance, matchup data, injuries, roster changes, and betting market movement.

No prop bet is guaranteed to win. The goal is to give you a data-driven way to evaluate today's college football player props based on probability and price, helping you identify potential value rather than relying on gut feel.

What are college football player props? Your edge in the game-within-the-game

A college football player prop is a wager on an individual player's performance rather than the final result of a game. Instead of betting on a team's moneyline, spread, or total, you're betting on whether a player will reach a specific statistical outcome.

Common college football props include:

  • Passing yards
  • Passing touchdowns
  • Rushing yards
  • Rushing attempts
  • Receptions
  • Receiving yards
  • Touchdowns

Most player props offer an over/under line. For example, a sportsbook might set a quarterback's passing total at 245.5 yards, with bettors choosing whether the player finishes above or below that number.

Dimers uses player projections and sportsbook prices to identify the best CFB props that may offer the most valuable betting opportunities.

How we find the best college football prop bets today

Dimers doesn’t deal in gut feelings. Numbers drive us. Our college football prop bets use a custom-built data engine that uncovers real betting advantages.

Finding a worthwhile player prop starts with projecting what a player is likely to do, then comparing that projection with the market.

For CFB player props, our model runs 20,000 Monte Carlo simulations of each game to calculate the probability of different player outcomes and identify where it sees value in the market.

  • Run 20,000 game simulations: The model uses the current spread and total as a starting point for each simulation, helping keep projected outcomes tied to the expected shape of the game.
  • Build player-level projections: Players are projected using factors such as depth charts, injuries, expected roles, and other relevant information. The model also accounts for the greater variability of college football by looking at how comparable FBS players have performed across actual games.
  • Model the game as a whole: Player outcomes aren't treated in isolation. The simulated game script influences things like passing and rushing volume, while touchdown outcomes are tied to each team's simulated scoring.
  • Compare probabilities with prices: The model calculates how often each player outcome occurs across the 20,000 simulations, then compares those probabilities with available sportsbook odds to find potential value.
  • Filter picks and keep projections current: Potential edges must meet set thresholds before they can qualify as picks, while unusually large edges are filtered to help guard against stale or incorrect data. The model refreshes as projections, depth charts, lineups, and sportsbook prices change.

What college football prop markets does Dimers cover?

College football props change the way you think about the game. Instead of betting only on the final result, you can bet on how individual players perform.

Our CFB player props model covers 11 markets across passing, rushing, receiving, and touchdowns:

  • Passing Props: Quarterback markets such as passing yards, completions, attempts, and passing touchdowns.
  • Rushing Props: Running back and quarterback markets including carries, rushing yards, longest rush, and rushing touchdowns.
  • Receiving Props: Wide receiver and tight end markets covering receptions, receiving yards, and longest reception.
  • Touchdown Props: Anytime TD, first TD, 2+ TDs, and 3+ TDs, where available.

The specific props available can vary by player, matchup, sportsbook, and game. Dimers focuses on the markets where we can generate meaningful player projections and identify potential value.

Why trust the Dimers CFB player props model?

The model is designed specifically to account for the unique variability of college football while keeping player outcomes grounded in real game and market conditions.

  • Built on actual college football data: Player variability is based on game-by-game data from across the FBS, reflecting how college players actually perform from week to week.
  • Grounded in market expectations: Every simulation starts with the current spread and total.
  • Outcomes move together: Player volume, scoring, and game script remain connected rather than being modeled independently.
  • Built to know when not to bet: Picks need to clear set thresholds, and suspiciously large edges are filtered out.
  • Kept current: The model refreshes throughout the week as projections, lineups, and prices change.
