Favorites to win the 2027 women's national championship
UCLA enters the 2026-27 season as defending champion after beating South Carolina 79-51 in Phoenix in April. The table above ranks every team by its best available odds to win the 2027 title, so the current favorites are always the top rows.
Preseason title odds are priced on last season's results and returning rosters. They move most in November and December, when nonconference games against ranked opponents show which rosters hold up. They move again in March, as injuries, conference tournament results, and seeding land.
A favorite's price in November and in March can describe two very different bets, so when you bet matters as much as who you back.
Women's Final Four odds and tournament futures
The championship isn't the only futures market on this page. Each tab prices a team to reach a different stage of the bracket:
- Championship: Wins the national title on April 4.
- Reach Semifinals: Makes the Final Four in Columbus.
- Reach Regional Finals: Makes the Elite Eight.
- Make Round of 16: Makes the Sweet 16.
The earlier the round, the shorter the price, because a team only has to win a game or two rather than six. Final Four odds are a common middle ground for bettors who rate a team highly but don't want to need a title.
What are women's March Madness futures?
Women's March Madness futures are bets on how a team finishes in the NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament, placed before or during the season. You can bet them from the opening tip in November until a team is eliminated or the title is decided.
The 2027 tournament is the first with 76 teams, up from 68. Twelve Opening Round games mean 24 teams need seven wins to take the title, while the other 52 need six, so a team's path through the bracket affects what its futures price is worth.
A futures bet settles once, when the outcome is known. A preseason bet on the champion stays open for five months, so the price you take in November has to be judged against how much can change before April.

How to read women's March Madness odds
Odds on this page are in American format. A plus sign shows the profit on a $100 bet. A minus sign shows how much you need to bet to profit $100. These examples use illustrative numbers, not live prices:
- +10000: a $100 bet profits $10,000. Implied probability 1.0%.
- +700: a $100 bet profits $700, returning $800 in total. Implied probability 12.5%.
- -285: a $285 bet profits $100. Implied probability 74.0%.
Implied probability is the chance a price needs to break even. The Probability column in the table above is our model's probability for each team, not the implied probability of its odds. To compare the two, convert the best odds with the examples above or our odds calculator. If our model gives a team a higher title probability than the price implies, the price is in your favor. If it gives a lower one, it isn't, however strong the team looks.
How Dimers calculates women's championship probabilities
Our NCAAW futures model uses the Monte Carlo method to simulate the women’s college basketball season 10,000 times, using official schedules, rosters, and advanced team ratings. Ratings factor in recent form, opponent strength, home-court advantage, player efficiency, and injury data.
After running the season simulations, the model calculates how often each team wins the national championship. The resulting probability is the number shown in the futures table and is each team’s chance of winning the title from where the season stands now.
We set it beside the best available odds from major sportsbooks and prediction markets, so the gap between the two numbers is on screen for every team.
The model updates daily, so probabilities can change as new results, injuries, roster changes, and other information come in throughout the season.
Key dates for women's March Madness 2027
The following milestones can impact NCAAW futures prices:
- November 1, 2026: The 2026-27 season tips off with Villanova vs. Notre Dame in Rome.
- Early March 2027: Conference tournaments. Dates vary by league, with automatic bids awarded as conference tournaments conclude.
- March 14, 2027: Selection Sunday. The NCAA announces the 76-team women's tournament field.
- March 17 to 18, 2027: Opening Round, with 12 games at campus sites.
- March 19 to 20, 2027: First Round, with 32 games involving the 64-team main bracket at campus sites.
- March 21 to 22, 2027: Second Round, with 16 games at campus sites.
- March 26 to 27, 2027: Sweet 16 in Philadelphia and Las Vegas.
- March 28 to 29, 2027: Elite Eight in Philadelphia and Las Vegas.
- April 2, 2027: Women's Final Four at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
- April 4, 2027: National Championship Game at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
NCAAW futures prices can move whenever new information enters the market, but the weeks leading up to Selection Sunday and the NCAA Tournament can be especially important. Regular-season results, conference tournament performances, injuries, player availability, and changes in a team's expected seeding can all affect its projected path to the national championship.
Selection Sunday is a major inflection point because the bracket, seeding, and tournament path are revealed. A favorable or difficult draw can change a team's championship outlook and move futures prices. Before the bracket is announced, however, every regular-season game and conference tournament result can influence a team's résumé, projected seed, and potential matchups.
Once March Madness begins, each game can reshape the remaining bracket and move championship futures. Unlike the NBA playoffs, the women's NCAA Tournament is single elimination, so one upset can immediately eliminate a team and change the championship paths and prices for everyone still in the field.
