The Genesis Scottish Open returns to The Renaissance Club, drawing a field headlined by World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and World No. 2 Rory McIlroy, with six of the top ten in the Official World Golf Ranking in the mix.
Now in its fifth year as a PGA Tour co-sanctioned event, the tournament boasts one of its strongest fields yet, and will feature several LIV Golf players back into competition against the PGA Tour's best.
The Renaissance Club, while not a traditional links layout, features links-style tradition through its coastal exposure, firm turf, and deep bunkers. The slower putting surfaces will test PGA TOUR players in ways their DP World Tour counterparts know well, so don't look past some of the less familiar names here, either.
At 7,282 yards and a par of 70, featuring two par 5s, five par 3s, and eleven par 4s, the course demands precision as much as length, with wide, generous fairways that still require smart positioning off the tee given the firm, fast conditions and penal bunkering that awaits any miss.
With the volatility of the wind in mind, Strokes Gained: Approach and off-the-tee performance are likely to be big separators this weekend in Scotland.

Whatever happens at The Renaissance Club, Scheffler remains firmly atop the FedExCup standings, and this week's crowded leaderboard of top-10 players will have to play their best golf simply to make it interesting.
He's finished T3 and T8 here before, is a handful of strokes away from being a five-time winner this season and gets one of his best prices all year.

Hatton knows this venue well, having posted four top-25 finishes on the DP World Tour in four career starts at The Renaissance Club, including a personal-best T6 in 2023.
He arrives rested off a T7 finish at the U.S. Open and carries the pedigree of a T3 showing at the Masters earlier this year, giving him both the course history and recent form to back up the value as he gears up for his fourth run at a major this season next week.
Matt Fitzpatrick to win (+2150 on DraftKings)

In some great form, Matt Fitzpatrick enters the value conversation at +2150 on DraftKings, with Dimersour model projecting a 5.8% chance to win against fair odds of +1625.
His 2026 season has been outstanding, with three wins, two runner-ups and punctuated most recently by a solo fourth at the Travelers Championship, and there's no indication that momentum is slowing with only two finishes outside the To p20 in his pat 11 events dating all the way back to THE LPAYERs in March.
Fitzpatrick also brings a strong track record to this specific course, having racked up two top-10 finishes at The Renaissance Club since 2021, including a solo 4th here last year.
Bud Cauley to win (+10000 on FanDuel)
Win probability: 1.5%
Dimers' fair odds: +6565
For the deep longshot in the mix at +10000 on FanDuel, look at Bud Cauley with the Dimers model giving him a 1.5% win probability against fair odds of +6565.
While he doesn't carry the pedigree or the swath of results of the other three, the odds gap still marks him as a live outsider worth a flyer for anyone looking to round out a longshot ticket this week at The Renaissance Club.
He won last month in Canada, and picked up a T26 at the PGA Championship, and his well-rounded game off the tee and on approach should make these odds seem much too long by the weekend.
