We are approaching the halfway point of NFL season (wild to think about!) and Week 7 arrives with no shortage of NFL betting action, major storylines and roster shakeups, which means we're back with another look at the most notable angles from the weekly slate.
Between prediction markets opening a new way of sports trading and sportsbooks ramping up the promos, NFL betting is at an all-time high this season and we are here to make sure you don't miss a beat as we head into Week 7.
That's where Dimers Pro comes in, fresh off another productive week across the Dimers Pro suite of NFL prediction tools.
All season long, whether you're betting game lines with our best NFL bets, hunting a touchdown edge in our NFL player props, digging into our NFL player projections hub, or tracking Super Bowl futures, the Dimers model does the heavy lifting so you can bet based on data, not guesswork.
Find the narrative, check the data and let the numbers inside our NFL predictions do the rest while you sit back and take in every game this season.
Below, we break down the week's biggest storylines, our model's top spread and moneyline picks, and the players, markets and scenarios most worth your attention.
Three storylines to watch in Week 7
1. Giants roster shakeup
It's been a rollercoaster of a season for Big Blue.
This team entered with high, but tempered expectations under new HC John Harbaugh, a seemingly secure franchise trio of QB Jaxson Dart, WR Malik Nabers and RB Cam Skattebo.
Those expectations grew after a Week 1 upset over the Cowboys, only for things to go off the rails seemingly more each week.
Dart was lost for the season to injury; Skattebo bottomed out with 0 carries in Week 6 after fumble issues put him in the doghouse and now third-stringer J.J. McCarthy could be under center. This morning, RB Najee Harris was released after working as RB2 on Sunday.
Right now, it's Jameis Winston as the starting QB in our projections and Tyrone Tracy is projected to lead the backfield with 37.1 rush yards and a 30.7% TD probability, compared to Skattebo's 27.5 and 14.2%.
In a division that could be destined for a sub-.500 winner, things could be worse in Giants country, but for now, this is one of the murkier personnel situations in the NFL.
2. Patriots backfield gets dicey
If the Rhamondre Stevenson or TreVeyon Henderson question wasn't already difficult enough, neither did enuogh on Sunday to fend off the emerging third name in the backfield. Corey Kiner.
When it came time to close out the game vs. the Jets, HC Mike Vrabel handed the ball to Kiner, the second-year RB out of Cincinnati. He toted the ball 11 times in the final quarter-plus, and has averaged 6.4 YPC over the past two weeks.
We don't project a full-on backfield takeover against the Bears in Week 7, but this backfield has suddenly become crowded. Stevenson projects to lead at 46.6 rushing yards, but his TD probaiblity of 37.5% is the lowest we've seen to date and Kiner sits at 18.1%.
That's a big edge, with his best odds as long as +1050, and a significant edge at their shortest of +850 as well.
Notably, both Stevenson and Henderson project under their rushing attempts lines at 57% and 61%, respectively.
3. Bears face team-defining game
Our best preseason value to win the Super Bowl, the Bears came out scorching hot in Week 1, dropping 59 points.
Week 2 could not have looked more different, with a rainy, defensive slugfest ultimately resulting in 3 offensive points and losing Caleb Williams for a few weeks to a hamstring injury.
The Bears managed to go 2-1 in his absence, and won Williams' first game back, cruising past the Falcons, even if the final score doesn't look like it.
Week 7 vs. the Patriots is the first time this season they face a team with a Top 10 Super Bowl probability per the Dimers model, and they have a healthy Caleb Williams.
How the Bears look in this game will set the public's perception of contender or pretender.
Presently, our model finds an edge on them to win at 61% and -148 odds and cover the -3.5 spread, 50% against a 45% chance on Novig.
Top picks against the spread in Week 7
These are the teams with the highest probability to cover the spread in their respective game this week.
They may not hold value, which is why you'll want to cross-reference with our NFL best bets - any spread picks with a betting edge will be identified there.
However, if you're looking to build NFL parlays with spreads, or make your choices in an NFL Pick 'ems league, these five teams are a good place to start.
At the early lines, our model isn't discounting the teams starting backups quite as much as the books, but keep an eye on these throughout the week for any line movement and updated predictions.
- Rams -3.5 @ Raiders (57%)
- Saints +3.5 vs. Steelers (55%)
- Packers +3.5 @ Lions (55%)
- Panthers -3.5 vs. Buccaneers (53%)
- Chiefs +2.5 @ Seahawks (52%)
Top 5 season to date: 13-17
Overall, Dimers spreads went 10-4 in Week 6 based on closing lines, once again highlighting why the best value often lies on the most overlooked games of the slate, and a reminder that checking for the latest predictions closer can offer a cleaner read on the game.

Who will win in NFL Week 7?
Here you'll find the five most likely outright winners this week. No spreads, no covering, and little betting value, just the five highest probabilities identified in our NFL predictions.
These are good teams to look at for weekly Survivor picks throughout the season, provided you haven't used one of them previously.
- Texans 77% vs. Giants
- Vikings 71% vs. Colts
- Rams 68% vs. Raiders
- Cowboys 68% @ Eagles
- Panthers 66% vs. Buccaneers
Editor's Survivor pick: Safe to the Rams burned a lot of Survivor pools in Week 6, with arguably the upset of the year by the Cardinals, the second time they've shocked this season. If you've still got a Survivor pool entry, you can go back to the "fade the Dolphins" strategy, though the Jets sit just outside our Top 5 overall. The Texans look like a strong pick as they carry momentum from back-to-back wins into a home game vs. the Giants who have issues across the board.
Season to date: WK1 Jaguars ✅ WK2 Buccaneers ❌ WK3 Chiefs ✅ WK4 Vikings ✅
WK5 Bengals ✅ WK6 Rams ❌
Dimers' Sweet Spots to look for in Week 7
The "Sweet Spot" is a Dimers Pro feature that identifies the specific betting markets and edge ranges where our model is returning a positive profit over the course of the season.
These signals are the first to look for when researching a weekly NFL slate, as it shows where our model has proven to be most accurate.
We debuted the Sweet Spot for our new NFL predictions model last week with profitable edge ranges on both Moneylines and Spreads.
While our ROI on spreads dipped about 3%, Moneylines rose by 6% and we now have a Sweet Spot in all three game lines thanks to a profitable weekend on Totals.
Players to watch in Week 7
These are players who need to be on your radar, whether in fantasy leagues or for player prop betting.
Last week, George Kittle was one of our featured players thanks to his favorable matchup with Washington, and he scored the first touchdown of the game.
1. Germie Bernard (Steelers)
If you're a fantasy football player, you probably know this name.
We looked to take advantage of rookie WR Germie Bernard's opportunity in Week 6 and cashed his TD prop in our touchdown round robin.
With WR Roman Wilson out, Bernard has seen 21 targets over the past two weeks, turning them into 167 yards and a score, more than double what he had seen to date this season.
That's already got him up to second on this team in targets, with a significantly better catch rate than leader DK Metcalf.
Most importantly, hard-nosed veteran Aaron Rodgers clearly trusts the rookie, and that's nearly invaluable.
Our model just may see that, as Bernard projects to lead all Steelers this week in receiving yards at 59.5 with a 28.7% probability to score, which ranks fourth on the team.
That's plenty of room to climb on the international stage against a Saints defense that ranks 26th vs. the pass with 10 TDs allowed through the air.
2. Justin Jefferson (Vikings)
The Vikings enter Week 7 rested after a bye, while the Colts carry the weight of losing to the winless Titans.
Justin Jefferson is best in line to capitalize in this matchup, but you might not think so just by looking at our player projections.
Despite sitting as WR17 by yards, he's one of just five WRs at 50% or higher to score a touchdown. While three of those (JSN, Christian Watson, Ja'Marr Chase) also carry an edge to score, JJ is the only one with an edge to also score twice.
The Colts rank 22nd vs. the pass and have given up 10 receiving TDs. And that's considering they've faced Cam Ward, a pair of backups in the same game vs. the Commanders, and an anemic (at the time) Texans passing offense.
The higher tier of QB they've faced has dissected them - 3 TDs to Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes, and 300+ yards to Mahomes and Lamar Jackson.
Kyler Murray is not of the higher tier, but his No. WR is, and he carries the best value out of this week's top-projected WRs.
3. Tucker Kraft (Packers)
The only reason the Packers are facing the 28th-ranked passing defense and not the 32nd this week is that the Lions were on bye in Week 6.
Detroit has allowed 1,607 passing yards and 14 passing TDs. The Packers will visit the Lions in Week 7, and one player who has yet to truly take advantage of the passing game vacancies in Green Bay ahs been Tucker Kraft.
The organization loves Kraft, inking him to a big deal in the offseason despite while in recovery from a torn ACL.
Kraft has the third-most targets on this team, yet isn't reliant on boom or bust plays like WRs Christian Watson and Matthew Golden; Golden has 5 catches more than Kraft despite having nearly twice as many targets (57 to 30).
We project him for 4.1 receptions, which is right in line with Watson's 4.1 and Golden's 4.7, suggesting a similar piece of the pie.
Add in the fact that the Lions have the worst defense vs. TEs this season with 86.7 rec yards and 1.2 TDs per game to the position, and Kraft has all the right cards in his hand.
