Four bets to make in the WNBA on Wednesday, August 5

We're all offense tonight, focusing on a pair of three-point props and a pair of points props, each at plus-money odds.

Bet: Sabrina Ionescu 4+ threes (+194 on FanDuel)

Game: Storm vs. Liberty

Time: 7:00 PM ET

This was our bonus play in our last article, cashing at +185 odds and we're going back to Sabrina Ionescu tonight, as she leads all players in Dimers' projections at 3.2 threes.

Seattle has the 2nd-ranked 3PT defense over the season, but they've been slipping lately.

Over their past three games, they've allowed opponents to shoot 44.0% from deep, the worst mark in the league. Over Seattle's current 9-game losing streak, they've allowed 7 individuals to hit 4+ threes, and two pairs of teammates, including Ionescu and Jonquel Jones last game.

Ionescu has hit this in four of her past five games, averaging more than half of her total shots from beyond the arc, and is the sixth-most accurate 3PT shooter in the league averaging at least 6 attempts per game.

Our new and improved WNBA props model finds an edge in fading her teammate Jones from beyond the arc, further pointing to Ionescu being the top shooter.

Bet: Rhyne Howard 4+ threes (+135 on Fanatics)

Game: Mercury vs. Dream

Time: 7:00 PM ET

We're going over the Dimers projection with this one, but more than a few things align for this play tonight,

First up, Rhyne Howard is our second-highest projected three-point shooter of the night at 2.9 threes, and in a game that features the two worst three-point defenses in the WNBA, she is 1.2 three projected above anyone else, and that signals upside.

Howard is a streaky player from deep, hitting 4+ threes in bursts, including a four-game stretch at the start of July, and in 6 of 9 games to start June.

She hasn't hit 4+ in her past 7 games, but has good volume and 3+ in her last two, setting her up to start another run in a game that should feature weak defense behind the arc by both teams.

Bet: Arike Ogunbowale 16+ points (+110 on Fanatics)

Game: Wings vs. Mystics

Time: 7:30 PM ET

It's a clash of fourth-place teams in their respective conference when the Wings look to snap Washington's 4-game winning streak.

After being one of the league's premier scorers in the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Arike Ogunbowale saw her points drop from 22.2 per game to 15.5 last year and currently at 15.1 per game for this season, due largely to the influx of offensive talent for the Wings between Paige Bueckers, Azzi Fudd and Jessica Shepard.

But right now, 'Rike is playing her best ball since that 2024 season, with her last game snapping a five-game streak of 20+ points, finishing 1 point shy of eight straight games hitting this number of 16+, which she's hit in both games vs. Washington this year.

The Mystics have a top defense, but have let seven starters hit this over their past three games despite the winning streak.

Ogunbowale's recent run has her as the Wings' second-highest scorer on the season, and at 19.7 points, she is the second-highest projected scorer of the entire slate.

Bet: Ariel Atkins 12+ points (+120 on Fanatics)

Game: Sparks vs. Sky

Time: 9:00 PM ET

In the late game, we have a battle of teams sitting in the bottom of the standings with two of the worst defenses in the WNBA.

This should be a good game for betting plenty of overs, but the one we're looking at is Ariel Atkins to hit at least 12 points backed by her Dimers projection of 11.8.

Atkins is on a three-game streak hitting this number, doing so in 6 of her last 10. In that span she hit 17 and 9 points against the Sky. In the 9-point game, she went 1-6 from three; if she shoots at her season average, she hits 12 in that game.

Chicago just allowed three starters plus Kelsey Plum off the bench to cash this number in their last game, with 3+ starters hitting this in 8 of Chicago's last 10 games, including one game vs. the Sparks in which all five starters hit 15+.
