MLB home run parlay bet today, Tuesday, July 28
All 30 teams are in action tonight, with some of our favorite pitcher targets of the year getting the start tonight, leading to plenty of strong matchups.
Combining our hitter and pitcher projections with our MLB player prop tool and MLB trends can help isolate a handful of players from a full slate or even a single game.
Our strategy for finding these bets can be found in our How to Build Home Run Parlays betting guide, which breaks down precisely how to use the various Dimers MLB tools to make your home run picks.
With this pair of home run picks, you can play them as a +2252 longshot home run parlay or as boosted straight bets.
1. Ben Rice (Yankees) to hit a home run (+320)
First up, we're in the Windy City of Chicago, where it's blowing towards right field, right in the sweet spot for Ben Rice of the Yankees,
Rice has 8 home runs in July, tied for second-most in MLB as he sits right near the top of the league's HR leaderboard with 31 on the season.
A lefty himself, 9 of his home runs have also come against lefties, like Anthony Kay who starts for the Sox tonight. Kay has given up 14 home runs, though just a pair of those have been against lefthanded hitters. Kay likely won't pitch more than 4-5 innings as is typical for him, giving way to the White Sox's bullpen which ranks around the middle of the league against home runs.
Rice gets a 15.2% probability to hit a home run tonight, best in the game.
2. Jackson Merrill (SD) to hit a home run (+460)
We move to the later game as we look at Jackson Merrill in the Padres vs. Rockies game tonight in San Diego.
Merrill got off to a slow start this year, like many of the Padres, and after hitting 8 home runs between Opening Day and the end of June, he's clubbed 7 in July alone, 5 of those since the All-Star Break.
He's mostly generated power against righthanded pitching, which he'll get tonight in Rockies starter Michael Lorenzen, who's given up 12 of his 16 home runs to lefties, one of the worst pitchers in MLB against that side.
Merrill gets a 15.4% probability to hit a home run tonight, with favorable temps and light wind blowing out giving us a little weather boost.
