All season long, whether you're betting game lines with our best NFL bets, hunting a touchdown edge in our NFL player props, digging into our NFL player projections hub, or tracking Super Bowl futures, the Dimers model does the heavy lifting so you can bet based on data, not guesswork.
Find the narrative, check the data and let the numbers inside our NFL predictions do the rest while you sit back and take in every game this season.
Below, we break down the week's biggest storylines, our model's top spread and moneyline picks, and the players, markets and scenarios most worth your attention.
Three storylines to watch in Week 8
1. Browns-Steelers winner takes 1st place in the AFC North
We called out the Steelers as a +1100 sleeper to win the league's tightest division a few weeks ago, and they've shortened to +425, now in a tie with the Browns for first place at 5-2 heading into Sunday at Acrisure Stadium.
Pittsburgh dropped the first meeting this season so the second Browns vs. Steelers matchup is a crucial game for a potential tiebreaker down the line.
The Steelers come in hot. They’ve won three straight and Jaylen Warren's four games of 125+ scrimmage yards are tied for the most in the league.
Meanwhile, Cleveland keeps finding ways to win. Every Browns win has come by four points or fewer, and Deshaun Watson has led a fourth-quarter comeback or game-winning drive in each one.
In this pivotal matchup, the Dimers model gives the Steelers a 64.6% chance to win, projecting a 22-18 final score, which covers the 3.5-point spread by a hair and goes just over the 38.5 total.
2. The Cowboys' nightmare matchup
Dallas are 5.5-point favorites in Cowboys vs. Cardinals, with a 71.1% Dimers model chance to win, and it projects a 30-23 final.
But fittingly taking place on Halloween weekend, the Cowboys face their own person Freddy Krueger, as the Cardinals have haunted their dreams and reality for the past two decades.
The Cardinals have won 9 of the last 10 meetings since 2006, including four straight, and they’re 8-2 against the spread over the last 10.
Arizona is only 2-5, but Dallas’s pass defense gives the Cardinals a way to score. The Cowboys have allowed 12 passing TDs and 8.5 yards per pass attempt, and opponents convert 54.7% of their third downs, the worst rate in the league. They give opposing QBs too much time and don't punish mistakes.
That’s where the model finds value, in the touchdown market rather than the game lines.
Trey McBride is coming off 10 catches, 111 yards and a touchdown against Denver, and a defense that can’t get off the field on third down is a good matchup for a high-volume tight end.
Michael Wilson works the intermediate and boundary areas for Jacoby Brissett, which is exactly where Dallas has been beaten all year, and we find an edge on both to score.
3. MNF as an NFC Championship preview?
Going into Week 7, the Dimers model had Seattle as its Super Bowl favorite at 9.5% and Chicago as its best preseason sleeper at 5.3%. Now they meet in Seahawks vs. Bears on Monday Night Football at Lumen Field.
Seattle’s defense has been as good as any in the league. It just held Kansas City to three points, the fewest by a Mahomes-started Chiefs team. Kenneth Walker III had topped 100 rushing yards in four of his previous five games, and Seattle held him to 36 yards on 14 carries. That’s a problem for a Chicago offense that leans on RB D’Andre Swift as the engine of the offense.
On offense, Seattle runs through Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The reigning Offensive Player of the Year is only the second player in the Super Bowl era with 800+ receiving yards and 8+ touchdowns through seven games. This week, we project him for 100 yards and a 59.7% chance to score, the only receiver projected over 90 yards this week and one of just four players at 50% or better to find the end zone.
The model sees a closer game than the line suggests, though. It gives Seattle a 60.0% chance to win, below the 61.5% implied by -160, which leaves a slight edge on Chicago at +156, and our projected 24-21 Seahawks win lands inside the 3.5-point spread for the Bears and under the 46.5 total.

These are the teams with the highest probability to cover the spread in their respective game this week.

Dimers' Sweet Spots to look for in Week 8
The "Sweet Spot" is a Dimers Pro feature that identifies the specific betting markets and edge ranges where our model is returning a positive profit over the course of the season.
These signals are the first to look for when researching a weekly NFL slate, as they show where our model has proven to be most accurate.
All three game line markets, Moneyline, Total and Spread, carry profitable edge ranges heading into Week 8, as well as five player prop markets.
Players to watch in Week 8
These are players who need to be on your radar, whether in fantasy leagues or for player prop betting.
Last week, Tucker Kraft cashed in on his TD opportunity thanks to the elite matchup we highlighted for tight ends vs. the Lions
1. QB Josh Allen (Bills)
The MVP favorite is back in action after a week off, and the Dimers model is buying into Josh Allen's return to the field in Bills vs. Ravens.
The Bills host the Ravens as 3.5-point favorites, and Josh Allen is our model's sixth-most likely player to find the end zone in Week 8, doing so 8 times this year and in every game but the one before the bye, behind his lowest rushing output since 2024.
Our model says that was nothing more than a blip, giving Allen an edge to score at 61.0% against odds of -135 on DraftKings (fair at -155).
If teammate DJ Moore can return, we also identify an edge on the WR to score, but he remains questionable out of the bye after battling a number of early-season injuries.
2. RB Kyren Williams (Rams)
The Rams RB situation as a whole is one to watch in the L.A. battle between the Rams and Chargers.
A pair of lost fumbles this season and some postgame comments after the Rams' upset loss to the Cardinals might have been the catalyst for RB2 Blake Corum to see 17 carries to Williams' 16 in Week 7, but there hasn't been a takeover yet.
Williams held a narrow lead in snaps, but has proven to be the more effective runner this season and far more consistent, averaging over 5.0 YPC in all but two games, while Corum's been less impressive with multiple games under 3.0 YPC, and his best games coming against two defenses that Williams himself was even better against (Giants, Raiders).
The Dimers model agrees, putting Williams as the third-most likely TD scorer in all of Week 8 at 66.2% to Corum's 26.7%. And at 29.6% to score two touchdowns, Williams is an intriguing play against a winless Chargers team that has given up 9 rushing touchdowns this season.
3. QB Jared Goff (Lions)
This is less of a betting angle from a data standpoint and more of the narrative, but it's one worth putting on your radar in Vikings vs. Lions.
Jared Goff has thrown 14 touchdowns and 0 interceptions this season, meanwhile he sits at +2500 to win the NFL MVP. This week, he'll face the league's most elite defense in the Minnesota Vikings has allowed just 12.3 points per game to opponents, by fair the best in the league. A big game and a win against a division leader and rival could go a long way in shortening his price.
The biggest argument against Goff isn't even himself or the QBs above him. It's Jahmyr Gibbs, the OPOY favorite. That kind of production understandably saps some of the "V" in MVP away from Goff.
There's not much value on playing Goff directly in this game, but some line reading points to a good day for Lions QB. We project over 46.5 points at a 53.6% probability, but the Vikings have scored under 20 points in three games this season, and not more than 23 since Week 1.
That offense is more likely to come from the Lions side, and that's where you'll find an edge.

WR Amon-Ra St. Brown gets an edge at 48.2% to score a touchdown against +130 odds, so while we don't see value in backing Goff to throw for multiple touchdowns or a big passing day, our model predicts points, and St. Brown to be the source of at least 6 of them.
Goff just might find himself shorter than +2500 to win the MVP by Monday if that's the case.
