NFL betting guide for Week 5 picks and props.
Your ultimate guide to betting on NFL Week 5.

Week 5 arrives with no shortage of NFL betting action, major storylines and roster shakeups, which means we're back with another look at the most notable angles from the weekly slate.

Between prediction markets opening a new way of sports trading and sportsbooks ramping up the promos, NFL betting is at an all-time high this season and we are here to make sure you don't miss a beat as we head into Week 4.

That's where Dimers Pro comes in, fresh off another productive week across the Dimers Pro suite of NFL prediction tools.

All season long, whether you're betting game lines with our best NFL bets, hunting a touchdown edge in our NFL player props, digging into our NFL player projections hub, or tracking Super Bowl futures, the Dimers model does the heavy lifting so you can bet based on data, not guesswork.

Find the narrative, check the data and let the numbers inside our NFL predictions do the rest while you sit back and take in every game this season.

Below, we break down the week's biggest storylines, our model's top spread and moneyline picks, and the players, markets and scenarios most worth your attention.

Three storylines to watch in Week 5

1. The byes begin

The most frustrating segment of the season for fantasy players begins as the first bye week of the year sees the Chiefs and Panthers, two teams with a hefty amount of relevant players inactive this week.

While this has little impact on weekly betting, it can open up futures opportunities, as a team can gain a half game on their division opponents who are on the shelf for the week, before that team's odds potentially shorten.

For example, as big division favorites at -225, the Chiefs can't extend their lead this week, making the Broncos or Raiders a possible buy.

In the NFC South where the Panthers and Falcons are nearly even, the Falcons would have a shot to shorten their odds with a decisive win over the Ravens.

2. Bears backfield gets murkier

After a monstrous Week 1 in which the Bears put up 291 team rushing yards, it looked like D'Andre Swift (124, yards 3 TD) and Kyle Monangai (100 yards, 1 TD) were headed for a heavy backfield committee.

However, the following two games showed Swift was still the clear favorite (21 touches to 12 in Week 2, 22 touches to 10 in Week 3), relegating Monangai to a boom-or-bust TD option.

Swift's second lost fumble of the year may have changed things in Week 4. With the game well in control, the Bears leaned on Monangai with a whopping 30 carries to Swift's 15, with Monangai recording 4.9 YPC and a pair of touchdowns.

Monangai is day-to-day with a right thumb injury sustained in the game, and this may be a "hot hand" situation that makes pregame usage difficult to determine.

As of now, their yardage projects fairly close in our NFL player projections at 6 for Swift and 50.7 for Monangai, and although Swift still has the TD advantage at 58.4% to 35.9%, both players are our most likely to score for the Bears vs. the Packers in Week 5.

3. Bills-Rams Super Bowl preview?

The Bills and Rams are somewhat of an interconference mirror of one another, and this week, they face one another in Rams vs. Bills on Monday Night Football. Both teams began this year with Super Bowl aspirations and, despite some incredible individual performances in the early season, have had to fight and claw for some of their wins.

Both teams sit top 5 in Dimers Super Bowl probabilities, with even odds on the books at +670 apiece, and it's a pretty critical Week 5 game. A Bills loss could see them in a division tie at 3-2 after opening the year 3-0, while the Rams would fall below .500 again, and as many as 2 games back of the favorite in the NFC West come next Tuesday.

This game features 4 of our Top 15 TD scorers of the week in Kyren Williams, Josh Allen, James Cook and Puka Nacua.

Two notable angles to watch in this game will be the Kyren Williams-Blake Corum split, as the former continues to pull away and leave Corum as an afterthought, projected for 75.0 yards and a 62.0% TD probability to Corum's 38.4 and 27.4%.

On the Bills side, D.J. Moore was unable to finish a game due to injury again, possibly opening the way for Keon Coleman to continue his solid start after a 6 catch-116-yard, 1 TD game on Sunday. He's projected for 39.2 yards, less than 10 behind the team leader Dalton Kincaid.

Top picks against the spread in Week 5

These are the teams with the highest probability to cover the spread in their respective game this week.

They may not hold value, which is why you'll want to cross-reference with our NFL best bets - any spread picks with a betting edge will be identified there.

However, if you're looking to build NFL parlays with spreads, or make your choices in an NFL Pick 'ems league, these five teams are a good place to start.

At the early lines, our model isn't discounting the teams starting backups quite as much as the books, but keep an eye on these throughout the week for any line movement and updated predictions.

  • Ravens +3.5 @ Falcons (59%)
  • Jets -1.5 vs. Browns (58%)
  • Colts +3 @ Steelers (56%)
  • Cowboys -7.5 vs. Buccaneers (55%)
  • Rams -2.5 vs. Bills (55%)

Top 5 season to date: 9-11

Overall, Dimers spreads went 13-3 in Week 4 based on opening lines, with a hook in Packers-Bucs.

Who will win in NFL Week 4?

Here you'll find the five most likely outright winners this week. No spreads, no covering, and little betting value, just the five highest probabilities identified in our NFL predictions.

These are good teams to look at for weekly Survivor picks throughout the season, provided you haven't used one of them previously.

  • Cowboys 79% vs. Buccaneers
  • Bengals 75% @ Dolphins
  • Jaguars 73% vs. Eagles
  • Texans 72% @ Titans
  • Lions 67% @ Cardinals

Editor's Survivor pick: The "fade the Dolphins" continues to pay off and this week's target would be the Bengals, who draw our second-highest win probability of the week.

Dimers' Sweet Spots to look for in Week 5

The "Sweet Spot" is a Dimers Pro feature that identifies the specific betting markets and edge ranges where our model is returning a positive profit over the course of the season.

These signals are the first to look for when researching a weekly NFL slate, as it shows where our model has proven to be most accurate .

Due to the launch of our brand-new NFL model, only props have Sweet Spots that have carried over from last season. Once we have enough bets in the bank, you'll find game lines here as well.

We now have four markets with double-digit ROI, up from three last week.

Players to watch in Week 5

These are players who need to be on your radar, whether in fantasy leagues or for player prop betting.

Last week, we looked at Derrick Henry (scored vs. his former team), Tetairoa McMillan (career-high 192 yards, 2 TD) and David Montgomery, who was a bust.

1. Marvin Harrison Jr. (Cardinals)

Harrison hasn't lived up to the hype yet, and Dimers still has him as only the Cardinals' third receiver in projected yards (33.3) and fifth on the team in touchdown probability (18%).

This matchup could change that. Detroit has the league's worst pass defense, allowing 1,308 yards and 11 touchdowns, and Tetairoa McMillan just put up almost 200 yards and two scores against them.

While he's not racking up yards, Harrison has 9 targets over the last two weeks and scored last week. Against a secondary this generous, this looks like his best chance yet to break out, if he ever will with the Cardinals.

nfl player props

However, if you are on the hunt for value and not narrative, our model says that lies with Jacoby Brissett's top two targets, Trey McBride and Michael Wilson.

Be sure to note the "Caution" tag on Wilson; this means this edge is higher than we usually see on Dimers, so it comes with an extra layer of risk, especially considering he's still under 50% to score.

2. Woody Marks (Texans)

David Montgomery has been a big letdown since his three-touchdown Week 1.

He's averaging just 2.7 yards per carry and hasn't had a run longer than 10 yards since that game. Backfield mate Woody Marks hasn't been great either, but is averaging a better 3.7 YPC and has scored in back-to-back games as Houston is trusting him to do more with less.

Montgomery still has the edge in Dimers' touchdown probability (57.2% to 33.7%), against the Titans, but the yardage projections are close at 53.7 for Montgomery and 45.9 for Marks.

Tennessee's run defense ranks 24th in rushing yards allowed, so there should be room to run, and if Montgomery struggles again, the red flag will be up.

3. Ollie Gordon (Dolphins)

With De'Von Achane injured, Ollie Gordon has made the most of the last two weeks.

He's scored two touchdowns, just one fewer than he managed in 17 games last season.

He only carried 9 times, but he had almost twice as many touches as Jaylen Wright and was far more efficient, as Gordon ran for 100 yards and a touchdown on those 9 carries, while Wright had 7 yards on 5 carries, and Gordon also caught 2 passes.

Dimers now projects him as Miami's clear lead back at 43.7 yards with a 45.2% touchdown probability, though the Bengals' run defense has held up better than expected in 2026.
