Rams vs. 49ers Thursday Night Football preview

The Super Bowl favorite Rams (7.0% to win it all from Dimers' Super Bowl predictions) enter with championship-or-bust expectations after acquiring reigning DPOY Myles Garrett and re-signing former DPOY Aaron Donald, the latter of whom is inactive this week.

Meanwhile, the 49ers look to begin a season of redemption after a 41-6 playoff exit in the Divisional Round, adding veteran WR Mike Evans and bringing back WR Deebo Samuel this offseason in an attempt to enhance a passing game that's been hampered by injuries.

A Week 1 loss will set a poor tone for both teams, and it's predicted to be a close one.

Initial predictions are fairly in line with the sportsbooks from a betting perspective, identifying no major value in any of the Moneyline, Spread or Total markets.

Our Rams-49ers same game parlay picks

The three legs for tonight's parlay, each backed by the Dimers Pro data and straight from our NFL Projections Hub, featuring in-depth player-level insights for every single game.

Leg 1: Kyren Williams 50+ rushing yards

The data case: Kyren Williams enters Year 5 after three-straight 1,100-yard seasons, hitting 1,250 in his past two, ranking sixth in the NFL in rushing last season.

Across 20 games between the regular season and playoffs last year, Williams hit this in all but two contests, the NFC Championship and a Week 12 34-7 blowout in which he came up 4 yards shy. Over his past three seasons, he's only failed to hit this mark four total times, and never missed against San Francisco.

The Dimers model projects him for 64.2 yards on Thursday, clearing this alternate line with a healthy cushion as the highest-projected rusher in the game.

Leg 2: Mike Evans 40+ receiving yards

The data case: Mike Evans begins a new era with San Francisco after an injury plagued 2025 snapped an 11-year streak of 1,000-yard seasons.

He fell short of this mark just six times in his previous two seasons before last year, and if he stays healthy, is in line for a bounce-back campaign.

The 49ers WR room is largely uninspiring, with two other younger-but-aging veterans in Deebo Samuel and George Kittle, and unproven but hyped rookie De'Zhaun Stribling, and Evans projects to lead them all with 54.3 receiving yards vs. the Rams.

Leg 3: Puka Nacua anytime TD scorer

The data case: Last year's OPOY contender is primed for a big game to start the year, with the highest yardage projection for a receiver across the entire Week 1 slate, and the fourth-highest touchdown probability among WRs.

Last season, Nacua matched his touchdown total from his first two seasons combined with 10, leading the league in receptions, and even scoring once on the ground.

Nacua has scored in 3 of 5 career games vs. the Niners, including both last season, and he's ranked third-highest in this game at 40.4% to score, second on his team behind Kyren Williams.
