FedExCup Playoffs bubble watch at the Wyndham Championship

The PGA TOUR regular season ends this weekend with the Wyndham Championship, before the Top 70 golfers in FedExCup Points compete in the FedExCup Playoffs. 

With one week left of golf betting action before the fall events take over Dimers' golf predictions, this week's Wyndham Championship is the final chance to make a move for the golfers sitting outside the Top 70 in FedExCup points.

As we did last week, that gives us a prime opportunity to look at which golfers need to make a move, and get the best chance to do so via our predictions for placement markets like Top 20, Top 10 and Top 5, cashing Keegan Bradley (+210) and Davis Thompson (+175) at the Rocket Classic.

Placement markets are one of the most underrated ways to build a golf parlay, as the margin for error in a placement prop is wider than chasing a winner.

Which golfers can make the FedExCup playoffs?

A win at the Wyndham Championship secures 500 FedExCup points, which means an outright victory could launch a golfer from well outside the ranks into the fall events.

But the points tail off significantly after that, which means if you're not already in striking distance, it's a tall order.

No one from outside the Top 70 moved inside last week, although Mac Meissner went from No. 72 to 71 and Keegan Bradley rose from No. 76 to 72, both featured in this article last week.

While golfers inside the Top 70 could slip out and golfers well down the standings could make a surprise move, we're looking at golfers sitting 66th-70th and within 100 points of the Top 70.

Keegan Bradley to finish Top 20

Current FedExCup standing: 72nd

Our man came through last week with a T15 last week, cashing +210 odds for a Top 20 finish including ties, and rising four spots, putting him in position to crack the Top 70 with one week to go.

Bradley likely laments that a better finish at simply one underperforming event this year might have him already inside the Top 70, but he finds himself in need of a strong finish to gain any meaningful ground.

At 33.7%, he is our most likely of these golfers to make a run as he aims for his best finish in five tries at the Wyndham Championship.

Jackson Koivun to finish Top 20

Current FedExCup standing: 70th

Breakthrough winner a few weeks ago and sitting in the same spot he was last week: right on No. 70.

Koivun is turning heads at age 21, securing his first career win at the 3M Open, adding a T10 and a T23 at the US Open for enough points to sit on the bubble with just five events played.

He flashed with a T5 at Sedgefield last year and while he's at 28.1% and tied for our second-highest probability here, he comes with the shortest odds at +110, making him well off a value play, unlike Bradley.

Mac Meissner to finish Top 20

Current FedExCup standing: 71st

Meissner was featured last week and managed to climb one spot with a T26 finish, just missing our Top 20 bet and cashing three of our targets.

He's a little closer now and sits alongside Koivun at 28.2% to crack the Top 20 this week. He's an upside guy, as he's cracked the Top 10 in four of his five Top 20 finishes.

Unless everyone above him excels, a Top 20 finish should be enough to propel him into the FedExCup Top 70.

Matt Wallace to finish Top 20

Current FedExCup standing: 80th

The Englishman shot up the standings to 80th after securing a T5 at the Rocket Classic, with no better time to turn in his second-best result of the year.

However, he'll need another T5 or better at least to secure another 100 points and just crack the Top 70, and that's provided no one else makes a move.

The odds for a FedExCup fall run are unlikely for Wallace but he's expected to push for qualification at the Wyndham Championship and his 26.1% probability is good enough for the fourth-most likely of these players, projected right at 19th most likely to win in our predictions.

Davis Thompson to finish Top 20

Current FedExCup standing: 82nd

Thompson was also featured last week and finished the highest of them all, securing back-to-back Top 10 finishes to add over 170 points to his FedExCup total in the past two weeks.

It's unlikely anything worse than a Top 5 gets him in, but his current form suggests he'll push as hard as he can and at 23.5%, is nearly a 1-in-4 chance of netting another Top 20.

His Approach and Off-the-Tee play should give him a boos this week at the venue he's finished T22, T12 and T11 in his past three tries.
