We’re rapidly approaching the halfway point of the season already, and the futures races are taking shape.
Week 8 is here, and with at least 6 games in the books for each team, the contenders are starting to separate from the pack. That also means the markets on prediction market sites have had over a month to adjust to this year’s teams, and that’s where, in our opinion, the misprices start to stand out.
Using the best football predictions data from Dimers to analyze event markets, we’ll be delivering you a weekly Trade of the Day, identifying a market on DraftKings Predictions where the Dimers model says the public has mispriced an outcome, just as we have in Minnesota’s division race entering Week 8.
This could be a futures market like this week’s division winner, or a weekly event like a touchdown and more.

Week 8 Market Overview: Minnesota Division Winner
Minnesota enters Week 8 in first place at 6-0, the only unbeaten team left in the league. It holds a 1.5-game lead over Chicago (5-2), a two-game lead over Detroit (4-2), and sits 2.5 games clear of Green Bay (4-3). Even so, the market still prices it below a coin flip to win the division.
The whole division is playing well. All four teams currently sit in playoff position. Minnesota beat Indianapolis 16-10 at home on Sunday, Chicago has won two straight, and Detroit edged Green Bay 20-17 at home on Sunday on a late field goal.
Detroit is trading as the top challenger, but Minnesota is already 2-0 in the division after beating Green Bay 39-22 and Chicago 9-3. Sunday’s trip to Ford Field is the first of two meetings with Detroit, and the December rematch in Minneapolis could very well decide the race.
The big question for Minnesota is the passing game. The offense ranks 29th in passing yards per game, and their quarterback threw for just 150 yards and a touchdown against Indianapolis. Minnesota’s running game has taken a hit with a knee injury to their featured back, which would put more on their backups, who ran for 68 yards in relief.
Week 8 Market Spotlight: Minnesota to win the division
- Dimers prediction: 51.5%
- DraftKings Predictions market: 41%
- Difference vs. DraftKings Predictions: 10.5%
At the time of publication, the YES contract was priced at 41%, reflecting market participants’ expectations of that outcome. Market prices are subject to change.
The model is also lower than the market on the chasers behind them, with Chicago at 17% (trading at 23%) and Detroit at 24% (trading at 26%).
That gap of just over 10 percentage points is the difference between the model and the current market sentiment, and it’s the largest such gap in a division race heading into Week 8.
